Using High Pressure Washers for Fleet Maintenance

High pressure washers are used for various applications in the commercial and industrial industry. One such application is fleet maintenance. Fleet maintenance involves cleaning cars, trucks, boats, and ships. The following are some tips to select the best machines for fleet maintenance.

Cleaning Process
Auto detailing is often a difficult and time consuming job, especially for larger vehicles. Different surfaces of automobiles require different types of cleaning methods. For example, interior surfaces, such as seat upholstery and carpets, cannot withstand the high pressure output. High pressure washers are mainly used for cleaning the exterior surfaces and engine parts of automobiles.

How to Select a Machine
The term high should not be misunderstood when selecting pressure cleaners for auto detailing. Pressure levels should not exceed 1500 psi for cleaning vehicle exteriors. Higher pressure levels could damage the automobile surfaces. The same goes for fleet maintenance, as higher specifications may damage these vehicles as well.

Flow rate is another specification to consider. Higher flow rates consume larger amounts of water, which may not be suitable for areas with low drainage, as in mobile detailing applications. However, if water drainage is not a concern, higher flow rates can be used.
